Being Proactive About Public Health
We can’t predict the future, but we can still be prepared for whatever comes next. To fight a potential resurgence of COVID-19, we need more widely available testing so people can know quickly whether they have the virus and are a risk to others. We must develop the ability to rapidly trace contacts and identify exposures to limit spread. And finally, we should implement a new protocol to deliver faster responses to impending infections. Our healthcare systems and public health agencies will need help adapting to these demands while continuing to address non-COVID-19 issues, and we must do what we can to ensure our residents have access to reliable and comprehensive health care at all times.
